Being Our Best — couples reflection with Joanna
Being Our Best is a shared, private space for couples. You each sign in from your own phone, and you both talk with Joanna in one conversation. She listens for the feeling under the words, names the cycle you get caught in, and helps you move toward the life you want to build together.
Free while in early access. Not a substitute for licensed couples counseling or crisis care.

Joanna is listening
"Take your time, both of you. Whoever is ready first — tell me what the two of you have been circling around this week."
How a session works
Three traditions, one steady conversation, two people who are already trying.
You each have your own account
Two logins, one shared conversation. Joanna always knows who is speaking, and keeps the floor balanced when one of you goes quiet.
She begins with the feeling
Informed by attachment-based EFT (Dr. Sue Johnson), Joanna finds the primary, tender feeling underneath the reactive one — and the softer need it points to.
She reads the private logic
Through an Adlerian lens she notices the quiet beliefs each of you lives by, and where those beliefs are colliding rather than cooperating.
She moves you toward shared purpose
Adler called it social interest: the courage to belong and contribute. Joanna offers one small shared experience at a time, never a homework packet.

Same room, or three time zones
Sit side by side on the couch and type, or reach in from separate days. The conversation waits for both of you. Joanna gently assimilates everything either of you has said — so nothing has to be repeated, and no one has to be the translator.

Shared purpose, shared experience
Bonds are strengthened less by agreement than by doing something that matters together. Adler's social interest and Sue Johnson's attachment work meet right there: a couple who reaches for each other while reaching toward something shared. After a session, Joanna can write you a reflection — what each of you was longing for, the cycle to watch for, and one small thing to try next.
When you're ready
You don't need the right words yet, and you don't need to agree first. One of you creates the space, the other joins with an invite code, and Joanna meets you both where you are.
